If you’re stuck and unable to find the Earthwake technique in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, this guide is for you. The game has numerous secrets, and one of these is a powerful move that doesn’t require any weapon. Our guide will help you acquire the Earthwake technique in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
How to Get Earthwake Technique in Tears of the Kingdom
The Yiga Clan is known for its comic relief aspects, but they can still train you to be a capable warrior if you’re up for the challenge. The Yiga Clan Hideout, where you’ll have to take the challenge to get the Earthwake technique, is in the Gerudo Highlands. However, there are certain requirements you need to fulfill before you can try your luck.
To pass the challenge for the Earthwake technique, you must first acquire the complete Yiga armor set. Without it, you cannot even enter the hideout.
Acquire the Yiga Clan Armor Set
To get the Yiga Clan Armor set, you’ll have to obtain three different pieces: the Yiga Armor, Yiga Tights, and Yiga Mask. These armor pieces are found in smaller clan hideouts throughout Hyrule:
- Find the Yiga Armor at the Akkala Ancient Tech Lab in the far northeast portion of Deep Akkala. You must first acquire the Sensor+ ability from Robbie at the Hateno Ancient Tech Lab to be sent there.
- The Yiga Tights can be found at the Yiga Clan Maritta Branch in the Aldor Foothills to the northwest of the Elma Knolls Chasm. It’s east of the Kiuyoyou Shrine, near the hill’s base. After defeating the two enemies inside, examine the cave ceiling to find a hole. Use the Arise ability nearby to ascend to a hidden room where the tailor awaits.
- Acquire the Yiga Mask in a shack in the northeast forest of the Great Plateau South Chasm (on the shore northwest of Hylia Island). It’s easiest to walk there from Kamizun Shrine, which is to the northeast. You can climb trees or glide across the spikes surrounding the shack. Investigate the shack’s front door to trigger a battle and head inside to meet the tailor.
You’ll fight clan members at each stop, but they shouldn’t pose a serious threat if you’ve prepared yourself.
Find the Yiga Clan Hideout
Once you have the full Yiga Clan armor set, head to the main Yiga Clan Hideout located west of Rotsumamu Shrine. The front door may be locked, so entry requires a bit of a workaround.
To get to the hideout easily, fast travel to the Gerudo Highlands Skyview Tower to the west. Then use the Ascend ability to leave the underground cave where you appear. Above ground, travel straight forward to reach the edge of a cliff. Next, jump off the edge. Use your paraglider to descend into the canyon to the left of the giant hole. Dress in your full Yiga Clan armor set before trying to enter.
Get the Earthwake Technique
Enter the Yiga Clan Hideout and meet with the Yiga Blademaster. They are located in the training area past the shops near the entrance. The Blademaster poses a challenge, wherein you must defeat clan members within the time limit. This challenge works best if you have already upgraded the Yiga Clan armor after first acquiring it. Otherwise, your opponents hit pretty hard. Consume an elixir or a meal to improve your attack power and use a weapon that inflicts elemental damage.
The first challenge is just a test where you must defeat three Yiga Clan members within a minute. If you succeed, you receive the Yiga Fabric and pay 100 rupees to participate in the main event. Defeat six or more of the Yiga Clan members to get the Earthwake Manual.
The Earthwake Manual lets you unleash your new move, which relies on stamina. Without weapons equipped, press and hold the Y button to initiate an attack. A wave starts forward, and you can release the button to make rocks erupt. This technique works great against smaller or slow enemies confined to the ground.
