How to Solve the Skull Rock Puzzle in Disney Dreamlight Valley
Once you’ve restored each area’s Pillar with its respective orb, you may have noticed an extra, second Pillar on an island in Dazzle Beach. Surprisingly, it has a purpose. If you return to the Dark Castle after completing Act One of the story, you’ll find an Orb of Unity lying on the ground where you and The Forgotten stopped the spell. Placing this orb in the Pillar will trigger a mysterious puzzle. In case you’re confused, here’s a guide on how to solve the Skull Rock puzzle in Disney Dreamlight Valley.
How to Complete the ‘Between Skull Rock and a Hard Place’ Puzzle
After inserting the orb, ruins will appear in a circle on the small island. A quest called ‘Between Skull Rock and a Hard Place’ begins. Although it’s presented as a Merlin quest, he has no idea what’s happening when you talk to him.
To solve the puzzle, there are no given hints. However, if you study the symbols on the ruins, you’ll notice that they match the symbols inside the orbs of the other Pillars.
That’s right, you need to move the pillars. Surprising, isn’t it? I certainly didn’t know you could do that.
Each Pillar must be moved onto its corresponding ruin. Once you’re done, it should look like this:
The order should be Frosted Heights in the front, followed by Forest of Valor, Plaza, Peaceful Meadow, Glade of Trust, Sunlit Plateau, and finally Forgotten Lands.
Now you’ve successfully solved the Skull Rock puzzle in Disney Dreamlight Valley. The quest completes once you talk to Merlin, but there’s no further development at the moment. Presumably, the events surrounding Skull Rock will become relevant in a future story update.
