The Fastest Way to Befriend a Character in Stardew Valley
Building friendships in Stardew Valley is all about giving gifts. The more gifts you give, the more friendship points you earn.
In Stardew Valley, relationships are represented by hearts, which visually show your total friendship points. Most NPCs can have up to 10 hearts, but your spouse can have up to 14 hearts.
Jas, a non-romanceable character, can become your friend faster if you choose the right gifts. Since you can only give two gifts per week, you need to choose carefully.
The best gifts for Jas in Stardew Valley are Coconuts and Daffodils, which are easily found during spring and in the Desert.
How Friendship Works and Why Gifts Matter
Giving gifts is essential if you want to build friendships with NPCs in Stardew Valley. Each character has different preferences, so it’s important to choose items they love.
Every gift you give will earn you a certain number of friendship points, depending on how the recipient reacts to it.
In Stardew Valley, the usual cap for friendship hearts is 10 for each villager. However, Jas can only have up to 10 hearts since she cannot be romanced.
To gain hearts with Jas, you have to accumulate friendship points. Each heart is equivalent to 250 friendship points, which gradually decrease over time.

Making the Pink Cake and Plum Pudding requires a significant amount of ingredients, making them time-consuming to cook.
The Fairy Rose could be a decent choice, but it requires spending money on a crop that doesn’t generate much profit unless you make Honey from it. Additionally, you can only obtain it in the Fall, unless you have the Greenhouse.
Considering that Jas isn’t a crucial character, and you won’t miss out on much by slowly building your relationship with her, giving liked items instead of loved ones should suffice.
This is where collecting a large number of Daffodils in the Spring can be helpful. You can give Jas two Daffodils every week, easily reaching a friendship level of 10 hearts in Stardew Valley.
