Where to Find a Shielded Cargo Hold in Starfield
If you find yourself on a civilized planet in Starfield and need to unload illegal goods, having a shielded cargo hold is essential. Without one, you risk being arrested by the authorities.
Unfortunately, shielded cargo holds are not typically sold by honest dealers in Starfield. You’ll need to look in less reputable places, where you’ll find the most wretched hive of scum and villainy.
Open the starmap and locate the Porrima star system.
Depending on the capabilities of your ship’s grav system, you may need to jump to a star closer to you before reaching the Porrima star system. It’s only a few star systems away from Sol.
Land at the Red Mile.
The Red Mile is a small colony located on Porrima III. This location should already be marked on your map, allowing for immediate fast travel.
Speak with Lon Andersson.
Upon landing at the Red Mile, head straight into the facility ahead. At the top of the stairs, you’ll find a ship services desk. Lon Andersson’s office is located behind the desk.
Purchase a shielded cargo hold.
Consult with Lon and request modifications for your ship. Access the Ship Builder and navigate to the Cargo tab. Look for a cargo hold that has “shielded” in its name. Choose the one that suits your needs in terms of design and capacity.
That’s how you can obtain a shielded cargo hold in Starfield. And if you’re interested in space combat, keep an eye out for Crimson Fleet starships. They often have shielded cargo bays that you can acquire through commandeering.
