Developer Colossal Order and publisher Paradox Interactive have announced a delay in the console release of Cities: Skylines II. Originally scheduled to launch simultaneously with the PC version on October 24, the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X versions of the game will now be released in the spring of next year. However, the PC version is still on track to launch next month.
Delays for Quality
In a recent update on Twitter, Colossal Order explained the reason for the delay, stating that they require additional time to meet the quality targets set for the console release:
Mayors! We’re hard at work getting the game ready for release. We’ve come to realize that we need more time to reach the quality targets we’ve set for Console. We want to provide the best experience for our players, we’re updating the release window for Xbox & PS5 to Spring 2024. pic.twitter.com/eljCTi0deF

They also revealed plans to update the minimum and recommended PC specifications as they continue optimizing the game. The developers promised to provide more updates regarding the console release window in the near future.
The PC version of Cities: Skylines II is set to launch on October 24, while the PS5 and Xbox Series X versions will be available in spring.
