In-Depth Guide to Finding the Shattered Throne in Destiny 2
New and returning players in Destiny 2 who want to complete every Dungeon in chronological order may have a hard time finding the Shattered Throne. Certain situations will cause the Dungeon to just not show up for you.
Where Is The Shattered Throne in Destiny 2?
In lore terms, the Shattered Throne is located in the Ascendant Realm, specifically Eleusinia. This is Mara Sov’s Throne World and has become overrun with Taken after the Battle of Saturn.
Dul Incaru, the Eternal Return, Savathun’s Daughter, has also found her way into the Shattered Throne. It is your job to kick her, as well as all of her Taken army, out.
The Shattered Throne was the first Dungeon to be added to Destiny 2. It was introduced shortly after the release of the Forsaken Expansion alongside the hidden Dreaming City.
Back then, players would have to wait for a weekly cycle to complete inside the Dreaming City before the Shattered Throne would be accessible. This is not the case anymore.
With the removal of the Forsaken campaign, the Dreaming City and the Shattered Throne are freely available to players without the need to wait for a weekly cycle. This is great, though many players still have trouble finding the Shattered Throne.
It is first worth mentioning that you will need to own the Forsaken Pack DLC. This gives you access to the Last Wish Raid, the Shattered Throne, and 20 Forsaken-exclusive Exotic weapons.
After purchasing the Forsaken Pack, you will see the Shattered Throne available to you. Head to your Directory and select the Dreaming City.
On the Dreaming City map, you should see the Last Wish Raid icon near the top-left of the map. Just to the right of the Last Wish icon, you should see a Dungeon gate icon, this is the Shattered Throne.
If you don’t see the Shattered Throne appearing on your map anywhere, you most likely do not own the Forsaken Pack yet.
If you have purchased the Forsaken Pack and still don’t see it on your map, you may need to complete the first and only mission from the Forsaken campaign still available.
Head to your Directory and select Timeline at the top-right. This will give you a complete overview of the history of Destiny 2 Expansions as well as any missions that you still have available for each of the Expansions.
Scroll to the left to find the Forsaken Timeline, and you should see the mission Cayde’s Fate available.
Some players have reported that completing this mission gave them access to the Shattered Throne, though it is not known if this is intentional or a bug.
Head back to the Dreaming City map, and you should hopefully now see the Shattered Throne alongside the Last Wish Raid, both proudly ready for your attempts. Be sure to grab a few friends if you think you are ready for the challenge.
The Shattered Throne, like every other Dungeon released after it, is a three-player co-op PvE activity that will have you traverse a new area with little to no guidance.
You and your Fireteam will have to solve puzzles and defeat challenging Bosses to complete the Dungeon.
Dungeons are like miniature Raids, designed around three players rather than a full Fireteam of six. They are just as challenging as a typical Raid, if not a little shorter.
Just like Raids, they have exclusive loot and Exotic weapons that are only obtainable through Dungeon completions. In the case of the Shattered Throne, the Wish Ender Exotic Bow is tied to this Dungeon.
We have a guide on How to Get the Wish Ender Exotic Bow if you are interested. It will take you through a step-by-step process of the entire Exotic questline and may help you through your first Dungeon run as well.
Dungeons also reward players with Pinnacle Gear to help them reach the maximum Power Level. With the right Fireteam, you can quickly knock out Dungeon runs and get your rewards every week.
Now you know where the Shattered Throne is and how to get to it. This is a community favorite Dungeon that many players still run every week.
