Titanfall Universe Gets a New Game in Development
Titanfall fans may have something to look forward to as developer Respawn is reportedly working on a new game set in the Titanfall universe. However, it is important to note that this new project is not Titanfall 3, as clarified by Jeff Grubb of Giant Bomb.
According to Grubb, the game is being led by Titanfall game director Steve Fukuda and has progressed beyond the early prototyping phase to become a “real project,” although it is still in the prototype stage.
Long-Awaited Sequel
Since the release of Titanfall 2 in 2016, fans have been eagerly awaiting news of a potential sequel. Previous reports suggested that a game called “Titanfall Legends” was in development but was ultimately canceled by EA.
The original Titanfall, released in 2014, was well-received and led to the sequel, Titanfall 2. However, the series has been on hold as Respawn focused on their battle royale game, Apex Legends. Fans have been vocal about their desire for a new entry in the Titanfall series.
Respawn’s Next Moves
The news of Respawn’s new project comes shortly after EA’s decision to lay off hundreds of developers, resulting in the cancellation of a Star Wars FPS game that was rumored to be based on The Mandalorian. Despite this setback, Respawn is still involved in a collaboration with Bit Reactor for another Star Wars game.
While an Xbox showcase featuring EA titles is scheduled for the upcoming week, it is unlikely that Respawn’s new game will be revealed due to its early stage of development.
