Rabbit & Bear Studios Confirms Sequel for Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes
Rabbit & Bear Studios, the developer behind the highly anticipated Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes, has announced that they will be moving forward with a sequel despite the unfortunate passing of franchise creator Yoshitaka Murayama earlier this year.
Murayama, known for creating the beloved Suikoden franchise, passed away due to complications from an illness. In a recent Reddit AMA session, Rabbit & Bear Studios expressed their commitment to honoring Murayama’s legacy by continuing the series with a sequel already in progress.
Q – What’s next for Rabbit & Bear? With the unfortunate passing of Murayama-san, are plans for a potential sequel to Eiyuden Chronicle up in the air (provided that the sales are well above or within expectations)?
A – Absolutely! We are moving forward with a sequel. It is very sad that Murayama is not with us anymore, but we have discussed many things with him. I hope we will be able to carry on Murayama’s legacy, and I always want to treasure his last work. I hope many people will support this game.
Reflecting on their time with Murayama, the team shared, “No matter how bad Murayama’s mood or his health, he was always happy and smiling as soon as he saw the joy and excitement of his fans. I know that he loved you all.”
It is bittersweet to note that Murayama will not be able to witness the release of Hundred Heroes on the Nintendo Switch, scheduled for April 23, 2024.
