Seagate Starfield External Hard Drives on Sale Now!
Seagate’s Starfield-themed 8TB external hard drive is currently available for $150 at Best Buy, offering a $90 discount off the original price. This special offer sold out quickly on two previous occasions earlier this month, so if you’re interested, it’s best to act fast. It’s unlikely that this deal will last through Best Buy’s Great Summer Sale, which ends on July 28th. Best Buy also has the 5TB portable version of Seagate’s Starfield hard drive marked down to $110 (originally $170), and the 2TB model is on sale for $80 (originally $110) at Amazon.
Details on the Seagate Starfield 8TB External HDD
$150 (was $240) for 8TB | $110 (was $170) for 5TB
The 8TB Starfield Game Drive Hub is quite chunky in comparison to the 5TB drive. As a “hub,” the 8TB version is equipped with USB-A and USB-C ports, while the 5TB portable external drive only has the data cable to USB-A connection.
Each drive features an eye-catching design inspired by Starfield, comes with a one-year warranty, and boasts custom RGB lighting effects.
Amazon previously sold out of both the 5TB and 8TB drives earlier this month and has not restocked them yet. However, the 2TB portable model is still available for $80.
The Seagate Starfield HDD is officially licensed and can be used as an external drive for PS5 and Xbox Series X. Keep in mind that you will need to transfer PS5 or Xbox Series X games from this external drive to your console before playing them. Xbox One or PS4 games can be played directly from the drive. This may not be the ideal solution for console gaming if you’re using last-gen consoles or have slow internet speeds. Some users may find it faster to delete and re-download games on console rather than transferring them back and forth between the console’s SSD and the external drive.
Alternatively, the 8TB drive can be used to store large PC games and other data, offering expanded storage capacity for your gaming needs. With games continuing to increase in size, upgrading your storage with one of these affordable external HDDs ahead of the upcoming holiday game launches is a smart move. The 8TB model, in particular, is versatile with its additional USB ports.
