NYT Connections Today – Game #413 – The Answers
The solutions to today’s Connections, game #413, are…
- YELLOW: PARTS OF A BOOK COVER, JACKET, PAGE, SPINE
- GREEN: CAT COAT PATTERNS CALICO, TABBY, TORTOISESHELL, TUXEDO
- BLUE: NERVOUSNESS, IN THE SINGULAR BUTTERFLY, JITTER, NERVE, WILLY
- PURPLE: STARTING WITH VEGETABLES BEETHOVEN, CORNUCOPIA, KALEIDOSCOPE, PEACOCK
My personal rating: Challenging
My score: 1 mistake
Today’s purple group presented a fun challenge with a hidden word theme. It was fascinating to find vegetables at the start of other words, like CORN in CORNUCOPIA and PEA in PEACOCK. Pretty clever, right?
I admit, it took me some time to crack this one. I struggled to connect the dots, especially with the blue group ‘NERVOUSNESS, IN THE SINGULAR.’ It’s one of those instances where a singular detail can throw you off. My daughter actually pointed out the potential connection between JITTER and NERVE, but I dismissed it incorrectly. Lesson learned – listen to the experts!

What is NYT Connections?
NYT Connections is a popular word game series created by the New York Times. Players are challenged to identify groups of four items that share a common trait, with varying levels of difficulty – green for easy, yellow for intermediate, blue for challenging, and purple for the toughest puzzles.
Players can make up to four mistakes and can deduce the final group through process of elimination. The game offers more complexity than games like Wordle, with potential traps and wordplay tricks to catch players off guard.
NYT Connections is available for free on the NYT Games site for both desktop and mobile platforms.
