Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble teases all-new content later this year with its DLC roadmap

Exciting Updates for Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble!

Exciting news for all you monkey ballers out there! Sega has just announced that Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble will be receiving a plethora of new downloadable content and free updates following the conclusion of its current season pass.

The official Super Monkey Ball Twitter account recently confirmed this news with an image teasing the upcoming season pass content and giving players a sneak peek of what to expect later in the year. In addition, a new free multiplayer stage is now available, featuring fan-favorite characters like Tails, Knuckles, and Amy, all included in the season pass.

What’s Coming Up?

September will bring a new multiplayer mode as part of a free update, along with two new playable characters: Axel from Crazy Taxi and Beat from Jet Set Radio. Fans can also look forward to a Sega-themed costume pack that allows you to dress your monkeys as iconic characters like Akira from Virtua Fighter, Gilius Thunderhead from Golden Axe, Nights from Nights into Dreams, Goro Majima from Yakuza / Like a Dragon, and Shadow the Hedgehog.

As if that wasn’t enough, the post also hints at more content to come. In ‘late 2024,’ Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble will be getting even more multiplayer stages and modes, all as free updates. But the most exciting news of all is the announcement of additional characters joining the game soon.

While Sega is keeping their lips sealed on who these characters might be or how many will be added, fans can speculate about the possibility of a second season pass being in the works due to the game’s unexpected popularity. If it were up to me, I’d be pushing for Ulala from Space Channel 5 or maybe even bringing back the classic Daytona USA Hornet car for some wild fun.
