Sonic Generations Removed from Standalone Sale
As Sega gears up for the remaster of Sonic X Shadow Generations set to release in October, fans will no longer be able to purchase the original Sonic Generations game as a standalone title. Starting from 9th September, the 2011 classic will only be accessible through bundles of other iconic Sonic titles on platforms like Steam and Xbox.
The developer and publisher expressed their excitement for the upcoming release, stating, “We’re excited to share Sonic X Shadow Generations with you this October and see a new generation cherish this game as much as we do!”
Responding to the community’s feedback, the team reassured existing owners of Sonic Generations that they will still have access to the game through bundles. In a tweet, it was mentioned, “Existing owners of the title will still be able to download and play as well. We are happy to confirm that mods on the Steam version will NOT be affected!”
New Shadow Campaign for Sonic X Shadow Generations
Recently, Sega provided a glimpse of the new levels in the Shadow x Sonic Generations game, focusing on Sonic’s rival, Shadow. This separate campaign will reimagine stages from Shadow’s history, with levels inspired by past games like Sonic Adventure 2, Sonic Heroes, and Sonic the Hedgehog (2006).
Furthermore, Sega introduced an additional incentive for fans who pre-order the physical edition of Sonic X Shadow Generations.
Release Date and Platforms
