PlayStation to ‘Remain Best Place to Play’ by Adding Global Devs

After successful ventures in countries like China and South Korea, Sony Interactive Entertainment is now seeking out emerging PlayStation developers in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. The company has introduced the MENA Hero Project, a new initiative intended to support small developers in the area as part of its mission to maintain PlayStation as the top gaming platform.

Expect More PlayStation Games from Global Developers

The MENA Hero Project will offer assistance to developers and studios located in Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Iraq, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Jordan, Egypt, Morocco, and Tunisia. Sony plans to provide these up-and-coming developers with mentorship, training, and financial backing.

According to a press release from Sony, “The Hero Project incubator programs are designed to discover promising local developers and help them create engaging gaming experiences for the global gaming community. As part of our ongoing efforts to ensure that PlayStation remains the ultimate gaming destination, we are dedicated to establishing regional incubator programs that can identify new and diverse developers worldwide.”

Sony has already established the successful China Hero Project and introduced the India Hero Project last year. In March 2024, the company announced five upcoming indie games from Indian studios, though specific details and release dates were not provided.
