Exciting news for PlayStation fans as reports suggest that the highly anticipated PS5 Pro may be hitting the shelves this year, albeit at a hefty price tag.
According to GameSpot, journalist Jeff Grubb shared insights on the PS5 Pro during a recent episode of the Game Mess Mornings podcast. Grubb mentioned, “The last I heard, this thing [PS5 Pro] is still coming out this year.”
Grubb also hinted at a possible State of Play presentation happening soon. He mentioned, “More recently, what I’ve heard is there is probably going to be a State of Play, not a Showcase, by the end of September.”
While Grubb did not confirm if the PS5 Pro would be unveiled at the upcoming State of Play event, there’s a strong possibility considering the rumored release date, potentially during the Holiday season. Grubb also speculated that the price of the PS5 Pro could fall around $600, with a chance of it being as high as $700 for the enhanced features.
If Sony does indeed launch the PS5 Pro this year, it would outpace Microsoft in terms of mid-generation console refreshes. Microsoft has its own lineup of new Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S consoles on the horizon, offering various editions with unique features.
