Former Dying Light and Dead Island devs unite to make cosy survival game Astrobotanica

Space Goblin Studio Reveals Debut Game Astrobotanica Set to Release in 2025

Space Goblin Studio, an indie development team with “AAA credentials”, has announced that its debut game, Astrobotanica, will be released in early access in 2025. The game is touted as a unique blend of survival, exploration, and plant wizardry, offering players a lush open-world survival adventure set in prehistoric Earth.

According to the studio, Astrobotanica follows the story of an alien botanist who crash-lands on Earth while searching for plant species to save their dying home planet, Aya. Players will have the opportunity to cultivate, research, and experiment with various plant species in order to thrive on Aya.

The team, which includes developers who have previously worked on titles like Dead Island and Dying Light, plans to engage closely with gamers during the development process to ensure the game is both relevant and playable while delivering a meaningful message.

Arkadiusz Woźniak, the founder of Space Goblin Studio, expressed his excitement for the project, stating, “Astrobotanica is a game we’ve always wanted to play. I hope to bring new life to the survival genre by combining innovative gameplay with familiar themes. With gamers’ support, I’m sure we will craft Astrobotanica into a remarkable title, while working towards future co-op.”

For now, Astrobotanica will be available in early access on Steam only, with a release window set for 2025.
