Preparing for Heroic and Mythic Raids
As Heroic and Mythic raids draw closer, players need to focus on increasing their Item Level to be M+ viable, aiming for gear scores between 580 and 590. It’s crucial to reach this range to avoid challenges in finding parties or clearing raids. Luckily, there’s a solution to bridging the gap between your current gear and the recommended Item Level: Enchanted Weathered Harbinger Crest.
Mythic Raiding on September 10
With access to Normal Dungeons since August 22 and Heroics since August 26, the next milestone is Mythic 0 Dungeons and Heroic Seasonal Dungeons opening on September 10 or 11, in preparation for Mythic+ raiding on September 18. Raid Finder Wings for Nerub-ar Palace will be available by the 10th. Here are the known dungeon item rewards for Season 1:
- Normal: 554 Item Level
- Heroic: 580 Item Level (593 from Great Vault)
- Mythic 0: 593 Item Level (603 from Great Vault)
- Mythic +2: 597 Item Level (606 from Great Vault)
- … and so on
To run Mythic+ efficiently, gear should match the required Item Level per difficulty, ideally within a 15 Item Level range of the current drop. For Mythic +7, gear should be at least Item Level 595 to be accepted into parties. Using Enchanted Weathered Crest can easily boost your gear by 6 levels to reach the recommended Item Levels.
How to Farm Enchanted Weathered Harbinger Crest
Enchanted Weather Harbinger Crest is an enchanting reagent that requires learning its recipe. Obtaining the formula is commonly done by looting chests from Bountiful Delves in dungeons. Specializing in Khaz Algar Enchanting allows you to create the crest, while others can commission it via Job Orders. Components for production include Nascent Weathered Harbinger Crest, 30 Storm Dust, and 5 Gleaming Dust.
Acquiring Weathered Harbinger Crest might be a grind, needing 30 to purchase one Nascent version. However, obtaining them has become easier, with Hallowfall Orbs and Heroics being quick sources.
Which Items Should You Use Enchanted Weathered Harbinger Crests On
Focus on applying crests to weapons, trinkets, and reputation helmets after reaching Item Level 580. Save using crests for best-in-slot items during Season 1 or for min-maxing purposes. While they may lose value as higher-level drops come in, using them strategically on specific BiS items can enhance DPS in higher M+ raids. Use them wisely to avoid unnecessary spending on crafting or ordering them.
