Stardew Valley Ginger Island Guide

Reviving the Ferry to Ginger Island in Stardew Valley

Once you have completed the main town revitalization quest in Stardew Valley, a new opportunity arises. You can uncover a broken-down old boat behind Willy’s fishing shop which used to ferry people to Ginger Island. By repairing this boat, you gain the ability to visit Ginger Island at your leisure.

How to Repair the Ginger Island Ferry

You need to repair Willy’s ship if you want to go to Ginger Island.

Begin by completing either the community center bundles or the Joja Mart town improvements. Then, make your way to Willy’s shop. Once inside, head behind the counter and through the door at the back of the shop. This will trigger a cutscene where Willy explains the ship’s history and the repairs it requires.

To repair the ship, you will need 200 hardwood, 5 iridium bars, and 5 battery packs. Hardwood can be gathered in the Secret Woods, while iridium bars can be crafted from iridium ore, and battery packs can be created using lightning rods to harness electricity from storms. Once you provide the necessary materials, a cutscene will play the following night showing Robin and Willy repairing the ship. Afterward, you can pay 1,000G to travel to Ginger Island.

Exploring Ginger Island

Upon arriving at Ginger Island, venture to the eastern part of the island through the jungle to find Leo. Leo will only interact with you once you befriend the parrots on the island. By offering Golden Walnuts to the parrots, you can unlock new areas and restore broken structures. Keep an eye out for Golden Walnuts, as they can be found buried, in trees, or dropped by enemies around the island.

To befriend Leo, you must journey to the Volcano Dungeon and ascend to the summit. At the top, you will discover the forge, where you can enchant weapons and tools. Return to Leo after reaching the top to establish a friendship and access more parrots on the island. You can also repair the resort, a bridge to a dig site, and other areas. Start by restoring the island farm located in the western part of the island, as this will unlock more parrots across Ginger Island.

With numerous locations to explore and unlock on Ginger Island, prioritize befriending Leo and restoring the island farm. From there, you can choose the order in which you explore and repair the island. Remember, all unlocks and repairs are completed using Golden Walnuts, so keep your eyes peeled while exploring.
