What to Expect from WoW’s 20th Anniversary Event
Can you believe it’s been 20 years since World of Warcraft first graced our screens? In honor of this milestone, Blizzard is rolling out a special anniversary event. Here’s a rundown of what you can expect from WoW’s 20th Anniversary celebration.
The Highlights of the Event
The overarching theme of WoW’s 20th Anniversary event is nostalgia. To bring back the good old days, Blizzard is reintroducing classic dungeons and armor appearance sets with a modern twist.
But that’s not all – you can also look forward to new questlines, mounts, pets, and world bosses. And don’t forget about the special 20th-anniversary wallpaper that will be available.
The New Currency: Bronze Celebration Tokens
During the event, a special currency called Bronze Celebration Tokens (BCTs) will be introduced. These tokens can only be obtained during the event and can be used to purchase various items, including some from past events.
Blackrock Depths Raid Returns
The Blackrock Depths Raid will make a comeback for the 20th anniversary, accessible through the Raid Finder for groups of 10 to 15 players. Additionally, players can speak to Moira Bronzebeard to initiate the raid and adjust the difficulty level as needed.
Classic Tier 2 Armor Sets Redux
If you’ve been missing the classic Tier 2 armor sets, you’re in luck. Each class will receive a refurbished iconic set for the event. From Judgement Armor for Paladins to Bloodfang Armor for Rogues, these appearance sets can be purchased with Bronze Celebration Tokens.
The Timewalking Event
The Timewalking event will be the centerpiece of the 20th Anniversary celebration. Travel back in time to experience iconic dungeons from WoW’s history. Explore Deadmines, Zul’Farrak, and more, and collect classic mounts, pets, and transmog sets from the event vendors.
New Pets and Employee-Exclusive Items
Exclusive items await Blizzard employees, including the coveted Coldflame Tempest mount. Players can unlock item appearances modeled after the employees’ gear, as well as special toys and pets like Lil’Kaz and Lil’Doomy.
The Big Party at the Caverns of Time
Head to the Caverns of Time in Tanaris for the main event. Participate in fashion shows, mount showcases, and storytelling sessions. You can also enjoy various activities like photoshoots, balloon rides, and more.
Old Faces – New World Bosses
Fight familiar foes like Azuregos and Lord Kazzak as they return as world bosses during the anniversary event. Take down these legendary bosses for special rewards.
