If you haven’t picked up a copy of The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, you now have more places to buy it from
The brand-new Switch exclusive wasn’t available to preorder at Walmart or Amazon, but it’s finally available at both retailers. Walmart has Echoes of Wisdom online and in stores. Amazon’s listing(s), meanwhile, are for imported, region-free editions. At the moment, the online retailer doesn’t stock Nintendo’s releases in North America. But Amazon has made the prospect of buying an imported game, in this case from its official UK Global Store, a bit more enticing by offering a 10% discount on Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom.
Other Retailers Selling Echoes of Wisdom
In addition to Walmart, Echoes of Wisdom is available for $60 at Best Buy, Target, and GameStop. All of those retailers will send you the North American physical edition, while Amazon will shave your total price down to $54 for the UK edition.
Amazon US does not officially have Echoes of Wisdom, but Amazon UK does. Thanks to Amazon’s UK Global Store, you can purchase the import just like you would any other item. The Switch isn’t a region-locked console, so games from other regions work the same (as long as they support English). The only difference you’ll see is the rating boards logo in the lower left-hand corner on the box.
At the moment, Amazon has two listings, one of which is shipped and sold by Amazon’s UK Global Store. You’ll get free shipping and save some cash in the process, as the UK edition is going for $54.24. You’ll still be backed by Amazon’s return policy, and customer service is provided by Amazon US.
If Amazon sells out of that one, the second listing has Echoes of Wisdom listed for $58.
Special Edition Switch Lite
Nintendo released a limited-edition Switch Lite to commemorate the launch of Echoes of Wisdom.
The Hyrule Edition Nintendo Switch Lite is available at Target, Best Buy, and GameStop. It doesn’t come with the game, so you’ll need to buy a copy separately. But you are getting one-year of Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack, which normally costs $50. You’re essentially getting the membership for $10.
The limited-edition console features a gold color scheme with black accents and has the Hylian Crest on the back. It also has a small Triforce beneath the right thumbstick.
With your Switch Online membership, you’ll be able to play a wide assortment of The Legend of Zelda games on this appropriately themed console. With Switch Online + Expansion Pack, you’ll gain access to over 100 of the best games for SNES, NES, Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, and Nintendo 64.

The Hyrule Edition is arguably the best Switch Lite “deal” right now, but it’s also worth noting Target still has its exclusive Switch Lite bundle featuring an Animal Crossing-themed console and a digital copy of Animal Crossing: New Horizons for $200. And if you want to play Zelda on your TV, the Mario Red Nintendo Switch OLED is discounted to its best price yet at Amazon.
The Legend Continues
Echoes of Wisdom is a pivotal entry in the beloved Nintendo franchise. For the first time in the franchise’s nearly 40-year history, the namesake steps into the leading role. Well, it’s not technically the first time Zelda has been playable, but Nintendo would probably want fans to forget Zelda: The Wand of Gamelon and Zelda’s Adventure, two infamous Philips CD-i games, exist at all.
Thankfully, Echoes of Wisdom is a triumph, an inventive combination of modern and classic Zelda formulas. The sprawling top-down adventure features traditional dungeons of old while giving players the freedom to approach puzzles in many different ways. Echoes of Wisdom is the fifth(!) mainline Zelda game to receive a physical release on Switch, and you can save big on a few of Link’s adventures, too.
Amiibo Offerings
Numerous The Legend of Zelda Amiibo figures are back in stock for retail price at major retailers. In Echoes of Wisdom, you can use Amiibo to get extra crafting materials. You can also unlock three outfits for Zelda. These outfits are available in the game, so you won’t miss out by not having any figures to scan, but you’ll get an alternate version of the three outfits with select Amiibo.
