Star Wars Outlaws patch fixes a ton of bugs, stealth and speeder stuff

Ubisoft Releases Major Update for Star Wars Outlaws

Ubisoft made significant changes to Star Wars Outlaws with the release of update 1.2, addressing player complaints and setting the stage for future improvements outlined in the game’s roadmap. If you’ve held off on completing Star Wars Outlaws due to issues like clunky stealth mechanics and speeder controls, this update is aimed at addressing those concerns.

The latest update focuses on enhancing the stealth experience by adjusting AI detection, NPC numbers and positioning, patrol paths, camera visibility, and highlighting environmental opportunities to make gameplay smoother. Players will also find that Kay Vess is now less likely to be detected while using cover.

In addition to stealth improvements, the update also fine-tunes the speeder experience. Players can expect better speeder camera positioning, improved response when summoning the speeder, and enhanced collision detection to prevent getting knocked off by minor obstacles. Essentially, smaller objects that used to cause issues have been fixed.

Alongside these changes, the patch notes detail a range of other improvements such as bug fixes, updated animations for takedowns, and revamped melee animations for Kay’s interactions with enemies wearing helmets.

Despite the initial criticism surrounding bugs and performance problems, Ubisoft is committed to further updates for Star Wars Outlaws. Upcoming patches scheduled for Oct. 24 and Nov. 21 aim to enhance the overall quality and user experience. Moreover, the game is set to arrive on Steam on Nov. 21, bringing more updates to the stealth mechanics.

Recognizing the feedback from critics and players, Ubisoft is dedicated to refining the gameplay elements that hindered the game’s reception. One reviewer, Todd Harper, expressed frustration with the stealth missions’ fail states, citing them as a major drawback.

As a result of the mixed reception, Ubisoft decided to delay the launch of Assassin’s Creed Shadows to ensure a higher level of polish and address any technical or gameplay issues that could impact the game’s success.

Star Wars Outlaws is currently available on PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X, offering players the chance to explore the open-world Star Wars universe with these recent improvements in place.
