Uncharted Fans Ready for a New Adventure
Fans of the Uncharted series are expressing their desire for a new installment as Naughty Dog celebrates the 15th anniversary of Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. The nostalgic reflections on the game’s impactful launch have brought attention to the fact that it has been a while since Naughty Dog introduced a new IP to their lineup.
Looking Beyond The Last of Us
The recent buzz surrounding Uncharted 2’s anniversary was fueled by tweets from Naughty Dog and industry figure Geoff Keighley, prompting the community to share their favorite moments from the game. Even former Uncharted writer Amy Hennig chimed in with some words of her own.
While many expected fans to call for a new game, the conversation shifted towards Naughty Dog’s absence of new IP releases in recent years. The focus turned to The Last of Us franchise and its various remasters, highlighting the studio’s shift in reputation to “The Last of Us studio.” It has been eight years since the last major Uncharted release, not including The Legacy of Thieves Collection. Out of the eight titles released by Naughty Dog since 2014, four have been remasters.
