Ape Escape 2 PS5 Update Rumored to Fix Technical Issues

The PS4 version of Ape Escape 2 has been facing technical difficulties on the PS5, causing frustration among players. However, recent rumors suggest that these issues may soon be resolved.

A Twitter user named Radec pointed out that the PS4 version of Ape Escape 2 is being delisted, hinting at a potential PS5 version that could resolve the ongoing technical issues. Although not officially confirmed, this move suggests that an updated version using PS5’s new emulation technology may be in the works.

It’s important to approach this information with caution, as no official announcement has been made regarding a PS5 release of Ape Escape 2. However, given the recent precedent set by the release of the updated Siren version for PS5, there is a strong possibility that Ape Escape 2 could follow suit.

Players have been experiencing performance issues with the PS4 version of Ape Escape 2 on the PS5, such as severe flickering and texture loading problems. If a new version utilizing the improved emulator for PS5 is indeed released, these issues are expected to be resolved.

PlayStation has been updating its PS2 emulator to bring older titles to the PS5, including games like Tomb Raider: Legend, Sly Cooper, and Siren. However, Digital Foundry has identified some issues with the updated emulator, such as poor upscaling and bugs that affect the gaming experience.

Many of these games are part of the PS Plus Game Catalog offered to Premium subscribers, with recent additions including Dino Crisis and Siren. While Siren is available for separate purchase, Dino Crisis is exclusively available to PS Plus Premium subscribers.
