PS Plus Might Be Getting One of PS2’s Best Game Series

PS Plus Premium Rumored to Add Original God of War Games

It appears that PS Plus Premium may soon include one of PS2’s most beloved game series in its classics lineup. Rumors have been circulating about Sony remastering the original God of War games, and it seems that these rumors may have some truth to them. However, instead of full remasters, it seems like the PS2 classics will be released through Sony’s new and improved emulator.

Why PS2 Games God of War 1 & 2 Could be Coming to PS Plus

Recently, Premium subscribers have noticed an image of Kratos from the original games featured in the PS2 section of the PS Plus tab. The PS Plus tab has been updated on the PS5 store to categorize classics by platform, with Kratos prominently displayed in the PS2 section. This discovery is reminiscent of a previous leak involving Dino Crisis.

While it remains uncertain whether God of War 1, 2, or both will be added to the service, speculation is rampant that both PS2 games will be included in the catalog. Recent leaks have hinted at multiple games being remastered, suggesting potential visual and gameplay enhancements as well as trophy support.

As for the release date of God of War 1 and/or 2 on the service, past titles like Dino Crisis and Resistance Retribution took some time to launch after leaks, so a definitive timeline is unknown. However, it is expected that the games will also be available for individual purchase upon release.
