When asked about Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, Gunn described the character as a “mess,” staying true to her comic book roots. The film, set to release on June 26, 2026, follows Supergirl’s journey to a space adventure where she seeks the thrill of getting drunk under a different sun.
Gunn expressed his excitement for viewers to witness the unique take on the superhero in Woman of Tomorrow. He also hinted at what’s in store for Superhero fans with the highly anticipated Superman movie, the Green Lantern series Lanterns, and the upcoming second season of Peacemaker.
Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow
In Woman of Tomorrow, Supergirl finds herself in a space tale reminiscent of True Grit, teaming up with a determined space-farmgirl. Gunn praised Milly Alcock’s performance as Supergirl and commended the collaboration between writers and directors in bringing the story to life.
The film will begin shooting in January, with Gunn promising a faithful adaptation of the original comic series by Tom King and Bilquis Evely. Although there are slight deviations for cinematic purposes, the core essence of the characters and themes remain intact.
Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow promises to captivate audiences with its unique blend of action and storytelling.
