The Last of Us 2 Remastered PS5 Pro Patch 1.2: Enhancements and Fixes
Naughty Dog has recently rolled out an update for The Last of Us 2 Remastered in preparation for the highly anticipated PS5 Pro launch. This latest patch not only introduces support for the upcoming console but also includes various minor fixes to enhance the overall gaming experience.
One of the most significant changes brought about by this update is the introduction of the new “Pro Mode,” as highlighted by tech experts at Digital Foundry. This mode eliminates the need for players to choose between graphics or performance priority modes by rendering the game at 1440p. Leveraging the PS5 Pro’s advanced machine learning upscaling technology, PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR), the output is upscaled to 4K while maintaining a smooth 60 frames per second. While Performance and Fidelity rendering modes are still available, they now benefit from higher framerates and an overall smoother gameplay experience on the PS5 Pro.
It is important to note that in order to access The Last of Us 2 Remastered PS5 Pro mode, players must have a PS5 Pro console and a compatible display.
In addition to the enhancements mentioned above, the patch also addresses several minor issues within the game. These fixes include resolving an issue where certain trophies would not unlock after importing PS4 save data and fixing a bug that caused Abby’s torso to disappear when switching between bonus skins. These minor fixes are aimed at improving the overall gameplay experience for players.
Furthermore, The Last of Us 2 Remastered is just one of many titles receiving enhancements for the PS5 Pro. Other games such as Dragon Age: The Veilguard, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, and God of War Ragnarok are also set to undergo visual overhauls for the upcoming console.
