Nintendo has officially confirmed that Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition is set to release on the Nintendo Switch on March 20, 2025.
This updated version will come with enhanced visuals and new content, making it the final port or re-release of the Xenoblade series on the Switch, allowing players to experience the entire franchise on one platform. Originating on the Wii U in 2015, the game has gained a strong following as a unique spin-off to the mainline series.
Here’s a breakdown of the features in Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition straight from Nintendo…
Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition puts you in the middle of a standalone sci-fi narrative where you can customize your character’s appearance and class to your liking. Engage in a comprehensive battle system with various options that cater to your preferred level of depth. Once you establish yourself within the BLADE organization, you can unlock a formidable Skell—a customizable, giant mech adept at both exploration and combat to aid you in your journey across Mira.
As you participate in the rebuilding process, you’ll have the opportunity to interact with the residents of NLA, assist them with their issues, and develop friendships with your party members to unlock quests that offer rare gear and other valuable rewards. Additionally, join an online squad* to take on multiplayer-specific missions, including extra-challenging Global Nemesis Battles. You even have the option to recruit other players’ avatars to join your team during the main storyline.
We eagerly await more details in the coming months and are excited to see this beloved sleeper hit receive a new life on the Nintendo Switch.
