Grand Theft Auto 6 Is Still On Track For Fall 2025 Release

The Latest Updates on Grand Theft Auto 6

Nearly twelve months ago, Rockstar Games introduced the initial trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6, signaling the franchise’s first sequel since Grand Theft Auto 5 back in 2013. Fans were eagerly anticipating a new GTA 6 trailer in today’s fiscal report from Rockstar’s parent company, Take-Two Interactive. While a new trailer was not revealed, Take-Two did confirm that the GTA sequel is still scheduled for a fall 2025 launch.

During an interview with CNBC, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick acknowledged that there have been delays with some of the company’s previous game releases. However, he firmly stated his belief that GTA 6 will meet its release window. Zelnick emphasized that the extended development time for the game is focused on enhancing the overall experience rather than just fixing bugs.

“When it comes to a game of exceptional caliber, with incredibly high expectations, it’s not simply about eliminating bugs. It’s about crafting an unparalleled experience that pushes boundaries, and Rockstar Games is committed to excellence in their work,” explained Zelnick. “Perfection is a difficult standard to achieve, as it is more of a subjective concept rather than an objective one.”

In their recent fiscal reports, Take-Two revealed that GTA 5 has sold a total of 205 million copies across all platforms, while Red Dead Redemption 2 boasts 67 million copies sold. Additionally, Take-Two announced plans for Borderlands 4 and Mafia: The Old Country to be released within their fiscal 2026 period, which spans from April 1, 2025, to March 31, 2026. Two other upcoming titles mentioned, CSR Racing 3 and Judas, do not have specific release dates yet.
