Overwatch 2 Brings Back a Nostalgic Experience with Classic Mode

Experience a blast from the past with Overwatch 2’s new limited-time event, Overwatch: Classic. This event allows players to relive the original launch version of Overwatch from May 2016, with all its original gameplay and balance intact.

Overwatch: Classic Details

Running from November 12 to December 2, Overwatch: Classic is a nostalgia-inducing experience for fans. While Overwatch 2 aims to bring back the classic 6v6 format, Classic Mode is a standalone event focused on revisiting the game’s original roots. You won’t need to download anything extra to play this event, as it’s seamlessly integrated into Overwatch 2 and can be accessed through the Events Hub.

Original Abilities

In Classic Mode, players can enjoy the original abilities of their favorite Heroes, some of which haven’t been available for years. Ultimate abilities charge faster in this Mode, adding a new layer of strategy to the gameplay. Additionally, for the first few days of the event, there will be a No Hero Limits rule, allowing players to experiment with team compositions by choosing the same hero. The original 4 classes have also made a comeback, with a lineup featuring various Heroes from each category.
