‘Mythwrecked: Ambrosia Island’ Mixes A Short Hike Cosiness With Greek Gods

Nintendo Life: Mythwrecked: Ambrosia Island Coming to Switch on 5th December

After being revealed at last year’s Future Game Show Summer Showcase, the cosy friendship adventure Mythwrecked: Ambrosia Island is set to arrive on the Switch on 5th December.

In this game, players assume the role of Alex, a backpacker who finds themselves stranded on the beaches of the enigmatic Ambrosia Island. While the island’s inhabitants may appear as if they belong in an Urban Outfitters catalog, they are actually the Greek gods of myth and legend who have lost their identities.

Players will need to befriend these stylish titans, help them recover their memories, and work together to unlock the island’s mystery and find a way back home.

The game draws inspiration from titles like A Short Hike and Ace Attorney. While the laid-back island atmosphere is evident, the comparison to Ace Attorney suggests engaging environment exploration and captivating character interactions.

Game Features:

  • Gods Among Us: Encounter various gods from Ares to Athena, and use the Ambrosidex to track them down
  • Treasure in the Sandbox: Seek out hidden treasures with the Ambrosidex and return them to their owners
  • Conversational Wizard: Explore, examine, and converse to unlock new topics
  • Even Gods Need a Friend: Experience a non-linear story about friendship, family, and community

The game looks charming, offering a glimpse into the daily lives of gods when they’re not aiding heroes like Zagreus. Mythwrecked: Ambrosia Island sails onto the Switch next month.
