Ubisoft has released a statement addressing the recent Assassin’s Creed leak that unveiled details about the Animus Hub, previously known as the Infinity project codename. The company took to Reddit to dispel what it called “inaccurate rumors” circulating online.
According to Ubisoft, all rewards obtainable in the Animus Hub will be completely free for players. Additionally, there will be no paid subscriptions or battle passes required to access content within the Animus Hub. Ubisoft also reassured fans that new content and missions will be added regularly at no extra charge.
More information regarding the game and its features will be unveiled closer to the launch date. The official confirmation from Ubisoft on Reddit marks the first time the real name for the Infinity project has been publicly disclosed, despite a previous mention by a developer during a media interview in June.
Among the leaked details are cosmetic options for player characters and weapons, including futuristic skins and armor, mythological mounts, and in-game resources. One leaked image even showcases Yasuke, one of the game’s co-protagonists, standing within the Animus Hub.
Originally planned for release in October, Assassin’s Creed Shadows has been pushed back to February 14, 2025, to allow developers more time for game polishing. In related news, Marc-Alexis Coté, the head of Assassin’s Creed, recently discussed the modern-day narrative aspect of the franchise and hinted at new directions for future storylines set in contemporary times.
