Repair The Broken Weapon
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 players may come across various broken weapons while exploring the post-apocalyptic world. But what should you do with these broken weapons since you can’t sell them? If you see any red-colored weapons, it’s best to avoid looting them. However, be cautious of yellow guns as they are close to breaking. If you already have a collection of broken items in your base, here’s what you should do:
Repair The Broken Weapon
If you come across broken items that you want to use, consider repairing them with the help of Technicians. Your first encounter with a technician will likely be in Zalissya, during The Poppy Field side quest. Keep an eye out for other technicians scattered around the world. The first technician you meet will introduce you to the Technician Service, so make sure to seek him out immediately.
The cost of repairs will increase as the weapon becomes more damaged. It’s advisable to repair your gun when it reaches yellow grade. Repairing heavily damaged items can be more cost-effective, so if you have a favorite weapon, try to prevent it from turning red.
Unload and Discard the Broken Weapon
If you come across a weapon that you have no intention of using, make sure to unload it before discarding it. This will help save whatever remaining ammo is inside the gun, which is crucial in a world where bullets are scarce. Once you’ve unloaded the weapon, simply discard it or dispose of it.
Sell them Before They Turn Red
Avoid letting your weapons deteriorate to the point of turning red. If you have guns that you no longer need, consider selling them before they become completely broken. Items can be sold as long as they are yellow-grade or higher. Once a weapon is broken, traders will no longer be interested, and it’s not worth the effort to repair and sell it.
Final Note: It’s recommended to sell or discard any unwanted weapons before they reach the red status. Remember to repair your weapons promptly when they hit the Yellow Status to maintain their functionality.
