Foamstars Seasonal Content Comes to an End Soon
Say goodbye to seasonal updates in Foamstars! Square Enix recently announced that the upcoming season titled “Party Goes On!” will be the last of its kind, running from December 13, 2024, to January 17, 2025. This marks the end of Square Enix’s seasonal content for the popular multiplayer shooter.
New Features and Expansions
Even though seasonal updates will be no more, players can still expect exciting new features in Foamstars. The next update will introduce expansions designed to enhance gameplay experience. Players will have the ability to customize shots for each character and access new enhancement elements. According to Square Enix, these additions are aimed at ensuring that players can continue to enjoy the game for an extended period, hinting at Foamstars’ longevity.
Foamstars Cup Events
Following the conclusion of the “Party Goes On!” season, players can look forward to participating in the Foamstars Cup events. These in-game competitions will replace Ranked Party Tribe-Vibe and Ranked Party Lonestar with Foamstars Cup Freedom League and Foamstars Cup Legend League, respectively. Each cup will be named after a specific Foamstar character and will rotate every four weeks, offering rewards such as items and icons based on the featured character. These events will occur daily, providing players with plenty of opportunities to engage with the game.
Availability of Season Passes
Starting January 17, 2025, previous Foamstars Season Passes will be accessible to both new and existing players at no additional cost. This allows players to choose specific Season Passes to progress through the game. While the basic Season Pass remains free, players can opt for the Premium Pass for additional benefits. Players can also purchase specific tiers within a Season Pass to unlock rewards along that particular track.
Changes in Challenges
Challenges in Foamstars will undergo a slight revamp after the upcoming season. The current Limited Time challenges will transition to Event challenges, divided into Daily Challenges (refreshed daily) and Event Challenges (updated weekly). Weekly challenges will see a change in rotation, switching out every four weeks instead of five.
Foamstars initially launched in February 2024 for PS4 and PS5, receiving a “Mixed to Average” rating with a 57 metascore on Metacritic. Initially part of the PS Plus lineup, the game later became available for purchase on the PS Store for $29.99 before transitioning to a free-to-play model in August.
