Exciting news for Genshin Impact fans as Version 5.3, also known as ‘Incandescent Ode of Resurrection’, is set to release on January 1, 2025. Developer Hoyoverse has revealed some key details about this upcoming update.

Two New Five-Star Playable Characters

The highlight of Version 5.3 is the introduction of two new five-star playable characters: Mavuika and Citlali. Mavuika, the Pyro Archon, brings unique combat styles to the game, wielding a claymore sword and a fiery motorbike construct called Flamestrider.

Citlali, also known as ‘Granny Itztli’, is a powerful Cryo Catalyst fighter accompanied by two companions. In combat, she uses these companions to summon shields and deal significant Cryo damage.

New Characters and Events

The update will also feature Lan Yan, a four-star Anemo Catalyst user with a unique Swallow-Wisp shield. Additionally, a new story act for Natlan’s Archon Quest will pit players against the formidable Abyssal Mimic Dragon boss.

Lantern Rite Event

Players can look forward to the return of the Lantern Rite event in Liyue Harbor, offering free rewards including Primogens and the ‘Wings of Fate’s Course Intertwined’ glider. Daily login rewards, special character outfits, and a free four-star character await participants of the festival.
