Team Heretics and CGN Esports Join Forces in Strategic VALORANT Partnership
European esports powerhouses, Team Heretics and CGN Esports, have recently formed a strategic partnership focused on VALORANT.
Both organizations will collaborate closely to train and prepare for their respective upcoming challenges, with Team Heretics gearing up for the VCT EMEA season and CGN aiming to qualify for EMEA Ascension 2025.
The partnership not only solidifies their training efforts but also serves as a bridge for Team Heretics to enter the DACH region, where CGN is headquartered. Simultaneously, CGN looks to leverage the success and popularity of being the runners-up in the VALORANT Champions 2024 to expand their presence in Spain.
Aside from training initiatives, the collaboration will see joint activations like watch parties, community tournaments, and player-centric content from both teams.
Furthermore, Team Heretics and CGN Esports will roll out co-branded merchandise, including jerseys and collectibles. The two organizations have also teased the announcement of offline events in Spain and Germany for 2025.
“Entering the DACH region with a strong partner like CGN is an honor for us,” said Niklas Geiß, Team Heretics’ VCT and LEC Team Director.
Founded in 2020, CGN Esports is a notable German esports entity currently competing in the VALORANT Challengers DACH league. Despite finishing third in VCT Ascension EMEA 2024, the team continues to strive for excellence.
David Dick, COO of CGN Esports, shared his excitement, stating, “Partnering with Team Heretics, the VALORANT vice world champions, is a dream come true. This collaboration extends beyond esports; it’s about engaging with our fans and creating inspiring experiences, both in and out of the game.”
Introduced by Riot Games last year, the Affiliate Partnerships program allows VCT International League teams to form alliances with Challenger or Game Changers teams. Notably, VCT EMEA teams like GIANTX, Fnatic, and FUT Esports have capitalized on these Affiliate partnerships.
