Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Rebirth reportedly coming to Xbox
It was inevitable. Insider NateDrake recently revealed that the Final Fantasy 7 Remake series will no longer be exclusive to PS5 this year. The Remake is already available on PC, and Rebirth will also be coming to PC later in the month.
Predictions for Xbox Developer Direct
During a recent episode of the Nate The Hate Podcast, industry insider NateDrake shared some exciting predictions and leaks for the upcoming Xbox Developer Direct event. According to NateDrake, Square Enix will have a dedicated section during the showcase to announce the arrival of Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth to Xbox Series X|S.
“We will see Square Enix confirm that Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth will be coming to Xbox. Now, my speculation is that this announcement will take place at the Developer Direct; I want to make that part clear,” stated NateDrake. “But I can confirm that Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth will be coming to Xbox. Final Fantasy 7 Remake is set for a 2025 release, with Rebirth following in 2026.”
NateDrake also mentioned their belief that Final Fantasy XVI will make its way to Xbox Series X|S, with a potential shadow drop similar to Death Stranding.
Following Square Enix’s financial results that indicated Final Fantasy 16 and 7 Rebirth “did not meet expectations,” franchise producer Yishinori Kitase expressed a desire to see the games go multiplatform. While Kitase does not consider the games to be failures, he acknowledges the importance of expanding to other platforms.
Additionally, during the same podcast episode, NateDrake suggested that Halo: The Master Chief Collection and Microsoft Flight Simulator will be coming to PS5 later this year.
