Call of Duty: Black Ops 6’s next Zombies map is called The Tomb and plunges players into ancient catacombs

Exciting Details Revealed for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Season 2 Zombies Mode

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is gearing up for the release of Season 2 on January 28th, and developer Treyarch has unveiled some initial information about the upcoming Zombies mode map, The Tomb. In this new map, players will venture deep beneath the earth into ancient catacombs.

According to Treyarch’s post on the Call of Duty website, The Tomb is based on the story of British archaeologist Sir Archibald Fotherington-Smythe, who conducted an excavation at the site in 1908. Although his fate remains a mystery, some of his expedition’s photographs have recently emerged.

Exploring The Tomb

Following the events at Citadelle des Morts, the third map in Black Ops 6’s Zombies mode introduced in Season 1, players will join Weaver, Grey, Carver, and Maya as they follow Gabriel Krafft’s final instructions to an excavation site. Their mission is to search for the Sentinel Artifact, leading them deep into untouched catacombs built upon an ancient burial ground.

Exciting Features

Treyarch has designed The Tomb to provide a similar experience to the Liberty Falls map, offering tighter play spaces with a focus on replayability. Players can expect numerous Easter Eggs and a reimagined Wonder Weapon inspired by past titles in the series. More details about gameplay will be revealed closer to the release date.

In addition to The Tomb, Treyarch has announced several other additions for Zombies mode in Season 2. This includes a highly requested co-op pause feature, loadout recovery for players rejoining a session after being AFK, Challenge Tracker improvements, Near Completion enhancements, and the ability to set up separate HUD presets for Zombies and multiplayer modes.

Since its launch last October, Black Ops 6 players have collectively spent 480 million hours in Zombies mode, with the introduction of Directed Mode increasing the average Main Quest completion rate from 3.38 percent to 8.23 percent. While there is still more to do, Treyarch is pleased with the initial results and looks forward to welcoming new players to the game. Onward and upward!
