New Tetris Forever Update Improves Game Saves On Switch

New Update for Tetris Forever Enhances Game Saves and Graphics

The popular collection Tetris Forever on the Nintendo Switch continues to receive updates, with the latest one from Digital Eclipse focusing on improving game saves and graphics.

Improved Game Saves

The new update introduces a change in the way game progress is saved for certain titles within Tetris Forever. Games that originally featured battery backup now retain high scores, player profiles, and progress between play sessions without the need to manually save or load progress. This feature applies to games like Tetris 2 + Bombliss on Famicom and various modes of Super Tetris 3, making it easier for players to track their achievements.

The games that benefit from this upgraded save mechanism include:

  • Igo: Kyū Roban Taikyoku
  • Tetris 2 + Bombliss

Super Famicom:

  • Super Tetris 2 + Bombliss
  • Super Tetris 2 + Bombliss Genteiban
  • Super Tetris 3
  • Super Bombliss

MS-DOS:

  • Tetris (AcademySoft)
  • Tetris (Spectrum HoloByte)

Enhanced Graphics

Players of MS-DOS games will also benefit from expanded graphics modes for titles like Tetris (AcademySoft), Tetris (Spectrum Holobyte), and Welltris. By accessing the Game Settings in the in-game menu, players can choose from display settings including CGA, EGA, VGA, Tandy, and Hercules, offering a nostalgic visual experience for those who grew up with specific graphic settings. Additionally, MS-DOS games now feature key-repeat functionality, allowing for easier gameplay.

Other fixes in this update include resolving issues like the Apple II score reset problem and haptic feedback settings during multiplayer games of Tetris Time Warp.

This update is just the beginning, as Digital Eclipse promises even more improvements for Tetris Forever and Tetris Time Warp in the future.
