How to Obtain the Tentacle Surge Mutation in Fisch
The Tentacle Surge mutation is currently one of the most lucrative mutations in Fisch, offering a high multiplier for selling mutated fish. However, acquiring this mutation requires a specific fishing rod.
To capture fish with the Tentacle Surge mutation, you must use the Kraken rod, which provides a 5% chance of obtaining it. While this chance is rare, increasing your luck through various methods may result in multiple mutated fish, including those of Mythical rarity.
Unlike most other mutations, fish with the Tentacle Surge mutation do not exhibit visual differences. However, they offer a substantial 10x multiplier, allowing players to maximize profits and earn more cash. This multiplier has recently been significantly increased from its previous value of 1.5x.
Obtaining the Kraken Rod involves reaching the Kraken Pool, which can be accessed by solving four puzzles with a clock wheel in each. By completing the Sunken Depths, Ethereal Abyss, Poseidon Temple, and Zeus Trial puzzles, players can unlock the vault doors and access the clock with different symbols. The objective is to align the clock with the correct symbol to reveal a pathway to another vault.
Upon solving the final puzzle, players will reach the Kraken Pool, where the Kraken Rod is available for purchase at a cost of 1,333,333C$. This rod comes with three passives:
- Kraken’s Power: After every 50 catches, the player will catch a guaranteed fish from the bestiary with Legendary, Mythical, or Exotic rarity. If the current fishing spot lacks an Exotic in its bestiary and the Kraken Rod selects an Exotic, players will receive a randomly chosen Exotic fish.
- Double Haul: There is a 10% chance that the Rod will provide double the amount of what was caught.
- Kraken’s Curse: It offers a 5% chance to apply the Tentacle Surge mutation to any fish caught.
