The Thing: Remastered PS5 physical release preorders available now

Computer Artworks’ 2002 third-person shooter The Thing is a beloved horror film adaptation that has garnered a cult following over the years. Recently, Nightdive Studios released a remastered version of the game, simply titled The Thing: Remastered. This remaster quickly became the fastest-selling title for the developer, prompting the release of a physical version for PS5.

The Thing: Remastered PS5 physical release is available for preorders in two forms. The Standard Edition includes the base game, while the Deluxe Edition offers additional goodies for fans of the film and game. The Deluxe Edition comes with a poster, sew-on patches, steelbook, Captain J.F. Blake ID card, the game, and a collector’s box. The Standard Edition is priced at $34.99, while the Deluxe Edition costs $49.99.

Both editions of The Thing: Remastered can be preordered now exclusively through Atari’s store, with a scheduled ship date of June 25.

The official description of the game reads, “The Thing: Remastered is a faithful restoration of the 2002 third-person survival horror shooter inspired by Universal Pictures’ genre-defining 1982 film, The Thing. Nightdive Studios has upgraded this classic for the modern era with hand-crafted improvements to character models, textures, and animations, reanimating the thrilling game for modern audiences.”

The Thing: Remastered was initially launched last December for PS5 and is available for purchase on the PS Store. For players who prefer digital versions, the game is priced at $29.99, offering a slightly more cost-effective option.

This enhanced version of the 2002 third-person horror shooter brings back the original experience while adding modern features like 4K resolution and frame rates of up to 120 frames per second.
