Resident Evil 4 Collector’s Edition pre-orders are being cancelled by GameStop, according to multiple reports. There seems to be some confusion regarding which pre-orders are being cancelled, with some players saying the issue might only affect in-store orders.
Update: March 8, 2023, 5:30 pm EST: We can confirm that an indeterminate amount of online orders have also been canceled. Those whose Resident Evil 4 remake Collector’s Edition order was canceled received the following email:

GameStop reportedly not getting Resident Evil 4 Collector’s Edition in stores
First reported by Twitter user Wario64, GameStop has apparently issued an internal memo to employees, asking them to cancel all in-store pre-orders for the Collector’s Editions because no inventory will arrive at retail locations. The memo doesn’t mention anything about online orders, leaving players in the dark about the fate of their pre-orders.
If you pre-ordered Resident Evil 4 Collector’s Edition IN-STORE at GameStop – they just issued a memo stating the CE won’t arrive in stores and will not be fulfilled/arriving.

Wario64 claims that the memo directs employees to let customers know that they can pre-order something else instead, get in-store credit in lieu, or get a full refund.
According to Twitter user RuleTimeSpace, GameStop has told a source of theirs that online orders should be safe. However, stock may be limited.
