Arc Raiders power rod: where to find it and every way to use it
Knowing how to get an Arc Raiders power rod becomes essential once you’ve got a few runs under your belt. It pops up in quests like “Tribute to Toledo,” lets you open certain locked doors, and is a core ingredient for crafting things like snap hooks and heavy shields. The good news: there are a few reliable ways to grab one.
Whatever your goal, we’ll run through the best power rod locations and what the item actually does. One quick tip before you head out: equip an augment with a safe pocket so you keep your power rod even if you go down before extraction.
Power rod locations in Arc Raiders

The most consistent place to find a power rod topside is on Dam Battlegrounds, inside the Power Generation Complex. If you have “Tribute to Toledo” active, Celeste will even nudge you toward this spot over the radio when you spawn. Once you’re there, hunt for the yellow breachable cabinets scattered around the area. They aren’t guaranteed drops, but they’re your best shot.
Grab one, extract to Speranza to finish the quest objective, or hang onto it for crafting and other uses. Players also report finding power rods inside solar panels on Buried City, in power boxes at the Hydroponic Dam Complex on Dam Battlegrounds, and at Rocket Assembly on Spaceport. Those can pay off, but Power Generation Complex remains the most reliable and the one explicitly called out by Celeste—start there.
You can craft a power rod too, provided you’ve got a level three refiner. The recipe is two advanced electrical components plus arc circuitry for one power rod, which is the fastest option if your refiner is ready. Alternatively, you can recycle a snap hook to get a power rod back. Since snap hooks are rare and extremely useful, most players will prefer to keep looting Power Generation Complex instead of scrapping one.
How to use the power rod in Arc Raiders

Beyond the “Tribute to Toledo” quest, the most exciting use is opening a locked door—fittingly, also in the Power Generation Complex on Dam Battlegrounds. It sits right next to a pair of those yellow cabinets, so even if you don’t need a rod at that exact moment, it’s worth swinging by when you’re nearby. Free loot rooms never hurt.
Power rods are also used to craft snap hooks and heavy shields. Heavy shields tend to get sidelined due to the mobility hit, but snap hooks are excellent for repositioning in fights and bailing out when things get hot. If you’re not cracking that Dam Battlegrounds door, it’s smart to stash power rods for crafting.
That’s the lot for now. Given their value for both access and crafting, power rods are worth keeping whenever you find them—especially if you’re running that safe pocket augment to make sure they make it home with you.
