The Arc Raiders quest Paving the Way arrived with the Cold Snap update, but it doesn’t show up until most of the earlier questline is squared away. Expect to mop up a handful of existing tasks before Apollo hands this one over. Once it’s active, the brief will send you after an Enelica building and a Convinio — whatever the heck those are — across two different deployments.
‘Paving the Way’ quest walkthrough in Arc Raiders
Paving the Way breaks down into two objectives. Despite the in-game text suggesting an Enelica building in Buried City, in practice that doesn’t pan out. Plan on completing the two steps in separate runs. The upside: you don’t need to pick up or extract any items, so free loadouts are perfectly fine.
Go to any Enelica building
The easiest Enelica spot to tag is on Dam Battlegrounds, which also happens to be the friendliest map for this. Head to Water Treatment Control and locate the main entrance. On the exterior, to the right of the front door, there’s a notice board you can interact with. Hit that, and the Enelica objective is done. Next stop: Buried City.
Reach the top floor above the Convinio in Piazza Roma
Piazza Roma is marked on the Buried City map, but it spans multiple buildings — and “Convinio” isn’t exactly a term the game explains. The goal is just above it: head south of the Piazza Roma label on the map to the two taller apartment blocks. Enter the southernmost tower and climb to the highest floor (not the roof).
Look for the researcher’s flat — it stands out thanks to the larger footprint and all the lab equipment scattered around. Inside, there’s a table packed with computer terminals. Interact with those, and Paving the Way wraps up.
Finishing this also opens the A Toxic Trail quest, so you’ll have a fresh objective waiting once you extract.
