The Octophant in Fisch stands out as one of the special Limited fish introduced in the Animals Update. This unique creature is depicted as a “massive being with robust tusks, elegantly sifting through the ocean floor.” It comes with specific requirements regarding bait, weather conditions, and seasonal timing; however, catching it is relatively straightforward! Below, you’ll find all the essential details.
How to Catch and Locate the Octophant in Fisch

The Octophant can only be obtained during the Octophant Hunt in the Second Sea. This limited-time event coincides with the Animals Update and runs from April 5, 2025, to April 19, 2025.
This exclusive event can be triggered by activating a Tempest Totem, in a manner similar to the Whale migrations. Players will receive a notification at the top of their screens when it spawns, at which point an Octophant will emerge encased in a protective bubble. To catch it, players need to fish around the Octophant 25 times to shatter the bubble before it can be hooked.
Although the Octophant appears quite large, it has been designed to be an easy catch, albeit it does impose a -5% speed reduction during reeling. This reduction is minimal compared to many other fish, allowing for a straightforward catch regardless of the rod being used.
To simplify the process, using Golden Worms bait, which can be acquired from the AFK mine, is recommended. You can collect these overnight or while attending school or work, enabling you to target the Octophant during clear summer weather.
Here’s the bait’s attributes:
- Resilience: +45%
- Lure Speed: +20%
- Preferred Luck: +200%
- Universal Luck: +100%
For those who haven’t yet accessed the Second Sea, a series of quests must be undertaken beforehand. Essentially, players need to reach level 250, speak to the NPC on Terrapin Island, and gain entry into the Crypt of the Green One. Upon entering the arena, be prepared to face the Cthulhu boss, which requires cooperation with other players. Once defeated, players will be transported to the Second Sea where they can utilize their boat to navigate various islands.
