In Pokémon Legends: Z-A, wild zones are the big catch-all areas where you’ll do most of your actual catching. You’ll still spot plenty of Pokémon on rooftops, in alleys, and down in the sewers, but these zones are where creatures reliably hang out. More wild zones unlock around Lumiose City as you climb the Z-A Royale ranks and push the main story forward.
If you’re trying to 100% a zone’s Pokédex grid, here’s the full list of what appears where. Important note: you don’t have to catch a Pokémon inside that specific zone for it to count. As long as it’s registered in your Pokédex, it fills that square. So a Staryu grabbed in Wild Zone 10 also ticks Staryu for Wild Zone 2, and an evolved Venipede will fill the Scolipede slot for Zone 15.
Below you’ll find all 20 wild zones, how to unlock them, and the Pokémon you can find. We also call out alpha Pokémon that can appear by default. Once you hit 100% completion in a zone, any spawn inside can roll as an alpha—but the ones listed below can show up before that. And yes, Wild Zone 20’s alpha list is a monster.
Update (Dec. 19): This guide now includes more detail on alpha Pokémon behavior in wild zones.
