Fan-favorite Eevee makes its grand return in Pokémon Legends: Z-A. With a whopping 230 Pokémon to catch, train, and evolve, Eevee’s diverse lineup of evolutions—dubbed “Eeveelutions”—takes up a lovable slice of the game’s Pokédex. If you’re eager to add one to your team early on to evolve into Leafeon, Umbreon, or any of its other forms, check out our guide on tracking down an Eevee as soon as you can.
Update (Dec. 9): We’ve included fresh details on where to spot Eevee.
Where to Find Eevee Early in Pokémon Legends: Z-A
After the game’s lengthy opening tutorial, Pokémon Legends: Z-A starts to open up. You’ll find yourself free to explore Lumiose City rather than trailing Taunie or Urbain. But if your mission during those initial hours is to score an Eevee, we’ve got your back.
There are several spots to locate Eevee, but our preferred area isn’t far from Hotel Z and the Pokémon Research Lab—both of which you’ll get to know well as your adventure unfolds. Start in Wild Zone 1, found between these two key locations.
From there, head left into the Bleu Sector. As you approach, you’ll come across a pond marked by blue rectangles on your map, with the Nouveau Café truck nearby—it’ll become a fast travel point once you reach it. If you face the truck, look to your left for some scaffolding. A bit of light platforming will lead you up to the rooftop, where you might just spot an Eevee. Keep in mind, this little critter tends to appear only during the daytime in clear weather.

The Eevee you find here is usually level 16, so if your Pokémon aren’t all leveled up yet, it might put up a bit of a fight. Your best bet? Crouch low and sneak up before tossing a Poké Ball from behind; this method boosts your chances of a successful capture. If battle ensues, aim to catch it before you whittle down its health completely; while Pokémon can linger post-battle with zero health, catching them isn’t a surefire win. If the Eevee breaks free, it can make a quick escape.
Once you capture this Eevee—or take it down—it will take a few minutes to respawn in that same spot, so keep that in mind.
Now that you have an Eevee on your team, don’t forget the nearby coffee stand; enjoy a cup while snapping adorable pics with your new friend!
Where to Find Eevee in Wild Zones

For trainers more seasoned in Pokémon Legends: Z-A, additional Eevees can be discovered in Wild Zone 19. This area becomes accessible after completing Main Mission 30, which is toward the end of the main story. Expect to see them hiding among the hedges, and you may need to reset the area a couple of times for Eevee to spawn. The Eevee found here will generally be in the high 40s level-wise.
If you’re on the hunt for Eeveelutions, head over to Wild Zone 20. While these alphas aren’t categorized as regular spawns, you can find them roaming around the center—Sylveon, Flareon, Vaporeon, Jolteon, Leafeon, and Glaceon will randomly appear. Keep in mind, though, these alphas are tough cookies, usually around levels 63 or 64. Since many alpha Pokémon spawn in Wild Zone 20, seize the opportunity to catch them whenever they show up, as you may be waiting for a while if you let them slip away.
