Upon entering the Second Sea, you’ll discover a variety of new rods at your disposal. The Frog Rod, Firefly Rod, and Wildflower Rod are among your choices, each designed with unique attributes to fulfill different fishing needs. This guide will highlight the distinct characteristics of these rods and provide details on how to acquire them.
Acquiring the Firefly Rod in Fisch
The Firefly Rod is one of the first rods players can access early in the game. You’ll find it available at the Merchant’s shop located in Waveborne, the starting island of the Second Sea.
- Price: 9,500 E$
- Lure Speed: 75%
- Luck: 35%
- Control: -0.01
- Resilience: 0%
- Maximum Weight: 175kg
While it boasts a high Lure Speed, the Firefly Rod has significant shortcomings in its Control, Resilience, and Maximum Weight. Additionally, you’ll find that its Luck is not particularly impressive. In comparison, rods from the First Sea offer superior statistics, making this rod not worth its cost with these drawbacks. Currently, there are no passive abilities associated with this rod.
Obtaining the Wildflower Rod in Fisch
Like the Firefly Rod, the Wildflower Rod can also be acquired early in the game from the Merchant in Waveborne. It features improved stats compared to the Firefly Rod but still does not surpass many of the higher-tier rods from the First Sea.
- Price: 7,000 E$
- Lure Speed: 30%
- Luck: 55%
- Control: 0.07
- Resilience: 12%
- Maximum Weight: 700kg
This rod does not currently offer any passive abilities.
How to Get the Frog Rod in Fisch
The Frog Rod represents a step up from the previous two rods. You can find it near the Waveborne Pond within the Waveborne area.
- Price: 12,000 E$
- Lure Speed: 20%
- Luck: 100%
- Control: 0.05
- Resilience: 5%
- Maximum Weight: 650kg
This rod includes a passive ability that allows perfect catches to spawn a frog, which enhances luck by 0.5x for a duration of 2 minutes. Although it has limitations regarding Maximum Weight and Resilience, along with a relatively low Lure Speed, the Frog Rod is a solid and affordable option if you are seeking a new rod from the Second Sea.
Given that the first two rods are lower-tier, it’s advisable not to invest in enchantments for them. However, if you enjoy using the Frog Rod and want to enhance it, recommended enchantments include Mystical for Resilience, Unbreakable or Herculean for Maximum Weight, and Hasty or Swift for Lure Speed.
