If you’ve stumbled across little white capsules in Grounded 2 and bounced off them pre–Toxic Tangle, don’t worry — that’s normal. Those are buster-caps, and the gunpowder clumps you want are tucked inside. You’ll see them pretty early in the park, but you won’t be able to crack them open until your Omni-Tool’s axe is upgraded twice.
Here’s where to find gunpowder clumps in Grounded 2, plus what you need to actually harvest them.
Where to find gunpowder clump locations in Grounded 2
Gunpowder clumps sit inside buster-caps — small white capsules set into brown plastic rings. There are plenty scattered around the starter areas, enough to cover an Omni-Tool hammer upgrade and kick off your bomb crafting when you’re ready. There may also be spawns tucked into the three new Toxic Tangle maps, but none are confirmed at the time of writing.
The biggest concentration is around the Buster-Cap Gun, just south of the picnic table and close to the toxic anthill entrance. You’ll find several more between the toxic anthill and the snackbar’s northern edge, so you can stock up fast — once you’ve got the right tool. You need the tier-three Omni-Tool Axe to break buster-caps. That upgrade requires a praying mantis head and black ant parts, and the latter only show up once you’ve pushed into the Veggie Garden.
There are also two reliable pickups near the pine tree: one perched on a rock against the trunk and another tucked into a small nook above it.
One more sits behind the snackbar’s southwest corner, near a patch of brittle quartzite.

Buster-Cap Gun area: a dense cluster of buster-caps sits south of the picnic table, near the toxic anthill.
Pine tree spots: one on a rock at the base, another in a small nook above.
Snackbar southwest corner: a single buster-cap sits near brittle quartzite.
What are gunpowder clumps for in Grounded 2?
Gunpowder clumps feed straight into bomb recipes — including the variants you’ll need to blow open rotten veggies in the Veggie Garden — and they’re also required to push the Omni-Tool hammer to tier three. Prioritize that hammer upgrade when you can. A tier-three hammer cracks snail shells for high-end defensive gear and opens up other late-game materials, pinecones included.
