Arc Raiders ‘A Toxic Trail’ quest walkthrough
The Arc Raiders quest A Toxic Trail sends you back to the same swampy corner you visited for Source of Contamination. Last time you hunted down a dumped barrel near Water Treatment Control; this time you’re digging into who put it there, and why.
Added with the Cold Snap update in December, this side job tends to show up alongside The Clean Dream and Paving the Way, so keep those on your radar too. Here’s exactly where to go and what to do to finish A Toxic Trail.
Return to the water intake below the Water Treatment Control building
Head to Dam Battlegrounds and make for Water Treatment Control. On the facility’s north side, where the big pipes empty into the swamp, look down into the murky water and you’ll spot the barrel you dealt with before. Approach it and the objective will switch to “search the swamp for traces of the barrel’s origins.”

This sounds vague, but you don’t need to travel far. Head a short jog northwest along the swamp river and you’ll find a flatbed truck half-sunk in the water, stacked with barrels on the bed. Pretty suspicious, right?
Walk up to the truck to trigger a prompt to photograph it. There are three nearby photo spots marked around the vehicle—snap all three. After that, interact with the truck’s door to search for clues about the saboteur. You’ll turn up a Spaceport Warehouse key. Stash the key in your backpack and get out of there—that wraps A Toxic Trail.
