Mithril is about as elusive as it gets in Hytale. You can dream up that gleaming mithril armor all you want, but even if you burrow through the deepest corners of the Devastated Lands, you won’t turn up a single nugget. There is a workaround, though—you’ll be using your keyboard, not a pickaxe, to dress like a proper Lord of Moria.
Here’s how to get mithril in Hytale.
Where to find mithril ore in Hytale
Right now, there are no natural mithril deposits in Hytale. Unlike copper, iron, or thorium, mithril doesn’t spawn in Adventure Mode—no matter how far you hike or how deep you dig. If you don’t mind bending the rules a bit, there’s still a way to grab some Hytale mithril.
To obtain mithril, switch to Creative Mode. If you started in Adventure Mode, do this:
- Type “/op self” and press Enter.
- Press the “O” key.
That’s it. In Creative, open the item menu and search for “mithril.” You’ll see every mithril item in the game—mithril ore, mithril ingots, and the full gear set. You can pull the armor straight from the menu, or smelt mithril ore in a furnace first if you’d rather do it the traditional way.
When you’re done, press “O” again to drop back into Adventure Mode. If you’d prefer not to use Creative as a shortcut, keep in mind mithril will likely arrive through normal progression later—some crafting recipes are already in place. Until then, adamantite is currently the top-tier material, with cobalt next in line.
We’ll update this guide once mithril is obtainable through regular gameplay.
