Optimal Act 3 Lune build for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33

One of Lune’s strongest paths in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 leans all the way into healing. She’s got plenty of bite with Fire, Ice, Lightning, and the rest, sure — but early on, she’s your only true lifeline when things go sideways. With so many party members built to punch holes in bosses, Lune shines brightest when she’s keeping everyone on their feet.

This build turns Lune into a dependable healer you can bank on from the first tough encounters to late fights. Below are the exact pieces you need — weapon, skills, Pictos, Luminas, and party comps — to get her there without losing the natural flow of combat.

    Best Lune build overview

In Expedition 33, a single missed parry can send the whole squad to the title screen. The idea here is to soften the punishment curve: Lune patches people up whenever it matters, so a slip-up doesn’t automatically end a run. Her kit covers direct heals (including one with Regen), resurrection, and even an offensive spell that bounces healing back to the party.

The engine that makes it work is Benisim, a unique weapon that lowers the AP cost of healing and opens the door to free heals. If Lune isn’t burning AP on basic upkeep, she can spend turns applying Burn, dealing real damage, or weaving in a heal-on-hit effect — all while keeping the team in fighting shape.

To lock in this support build, pick up the Benisim weapon from the Gestral Merchant in the Forgotten Battlefield.

    • Element: Earth
    • Scaling: Vitality (B), Defense (C)
    • Level 4 effect: Healing Skills cost 1 less AP.
    • Level 10 effect: Generate one Earth Stain at the beginning of each turn.
    • Level 20 effect: Replay instantly on consuming Stains with a Healing Skill.

Benisim scales with Vitality and Defense, which turns Lune into a tanky support who can still chip in respectable damage. The real sauce is in the passives: at level 4, your heals drop by 1 AP — so Healing Light is 2 AP and Revitalization drops to 4 AP. That one AP break doesn’t look huge on paper, but it’s the difference between scrambling for AP and being able to top off consistently.

At level 10, Benisim auto-generates an Earth Stain each turn. Two Earth Stains make Healing Light free. A no-AP single-target heal is perfect for preventative topping up and lets you bank AP for bigger moments. Once Benisim hits level 20, consuming Stains with a healing skill gives Lune an immediate extra turn — a massive swing for back-to-back support plays.

    Best skills for Lune

Build around the heals to trigger Benisim’s passives as often as possible. You’ll still have two flex slots to pair with your current team. The examples below sync with the party suggestions further down, but you can swap as needed.

    • Healing Light
    • Rebirth
    • Revitalization
    • Typhoon
    • Immolation
    • Thermal Transfer

Healing Light, Rebirth, and Revitalization are the core. Healing Light is your single-target heal — and with two Earth Stains, it’s free. Revitalization heals the entire party; with three Fire Stains, it also applies Regen for three turns, which is ideal right after heavy enemy damage. Rebirth is your resurrection tool. It’s pricey at five AP, but it’s the only revive in the game.

Typhoon doubles as damage and sustain. It deals Ice damage and heals, then auto-triggers at the start of Lune’s next three turns for additional healing. It’s a great stopgap if you can’t get Revitalization’s Regen online immediately.

Immolation and Thermal Transfer are situational picks here because they pair so well with Maelle. Immolation is a low-cost Fire skill that applies Burn and generates a Fire Stain, inching you toward that full-party Regen. Thermal Transfer is a cheap Ice skill that generates AP when it hits a burning target; it also builds Ice Stains to juice Immolation’s damage and can grant Lune another turn if you’re sitting on two Earth Stains.

    Best Pictos for Lune

This setup doesn’t hinge on specific Pictos, so prioritize pieces that add Health or Defense and bring useful passives. Recommended options:

    • Burning Mark
    • Energising Start
    • Healing Share

Burning Mark applies Burn when Lune hits a Marked enemy — something you’ll be doing often, especially with Verso around. That gives Maelle the burn window she wants and adds steady damage over time. Energising Start grants an extra AP at the beginning of battle. The effect stacks across copies, but one is usually enough to smooth your opener and get healing online fast.

Healing Share is excellent value: Lune receives 15% of all heals affecting others, which means fewer turns spent healing your healer and more turns spent keeping everyone else stable.

    Best Luminas for Lune

Pick Luminas that reinforce Lune’s job while nudging up her AP flow and damage. Mix and match for specific fights. Run the following set, with two optional picks if you want more AP tools:

    • Rewarding Mark
    • Marking Shots
    • Burning Shots
    • Painted Power
    • Auto Shell
    • SOS Shell
    • Longer Shell
    • Energising Jump (optional)
    • Energising Pain (optional)

Rewarding Mark, Marking Shots, and Burning Shots squeeze extra value from hitting Marked targets, while Painted Power lets Lune’s damage break past 9,999 when the stars align.

Auto Shell, SOS Shell, and Longer Shell stack survivability. Benisim pushes you toward Vitality and Defense anyway, and Shell adds another buffer for those enemies who simply hit too hard.

The optional AP picks keep your engine humming without relying entirely on perfect parries. Energising Pain refunds AP when Lune takes a hit — she can absorb a couple — and Energising Jump is a free AP whenever you land a jump counter.

    How to play Lune

Think of Lune’s turns as a priority ladder, not a rigid rotation. Read the board, then pick the highest-need play.

Top priority is getting the team healthy — aim to keep everyone around 60%+ HP using Revitalization when a big enemy turn lands. Group healing comes before resurrecting a recently downed ally. The only time to cast Rebirth first is when your Stains will immediately grant Lune a second turn afterward.

If the party is already stable, either prevent future damage by topping off with a free Healing Light, or set up Burn with Immolation. It’s also a good window to spend one or two AP on free-aim shots against Marked targets to generate AP or apply Mark.

Lowest priority is casting Typhoon or going all-in on damage. This build lives and dies on keeping the rest of the team in action — once that’s secured, then you pivot to offense.

Best supporting party members for Lune

As built here, Lune is a pure support who can still contribute damage when it’s safe. The best partner for her is Maelle. She has a few tools for utility, but her real strength is deleting health bars. Even before you pick up Painted Power near the end of Act 2, Maelle can push 30,000 damage with the right setup. Keep her alive and attacking — Lune covers the rest.

Verso also fits well alongside Lune and Maelle as a sub-DPS with great utility. He can Mark targets and strip negative effects from your party, which slots neatly into Lune’s healing rhythm.
